The cryptocurrency market showed a downward trend on May 5, with most major digital assets recording slight to moderate losses.
According to CoinMarketCap, as of 12:10 PM KST, Bitcoin (BTC) had fallen 1.67% to $94,156.36, while Ethereum (ETH) dropped 1.83% to $1,796.80. Ripple (XRP) also declined by 1.80%, trading at $2.15. Dogecoin (DOGE) experienced a 2.74% decrease to $0.1706, and Solana (SOL) was down 0.87% to $144.56. Avalanche (AVAX) also declined 0.87%, trading at $20.11, while Shiba Inu (SHIB) slipped 1.58% to $0.00001283. Aptos (APT) was the only major coin to rise, gaining 0.56% to reach $5.16. Meanwhile, Pi Network (PI) dropped 1.07% to $0.5881.
Walrus (WAL) recorded the highest gain, surging 9.11% in the past 24 hours. On the other hand, Ethereum Name Service (ENS) suffered the largest drop, declining 7.37% during the same period.
Other notable altcoins included Quai Network (QUAI), which fell by 3.93% to $0.05808, and Aleo (ALEO), which declined by 1.79% to $0.2379.
