Major Upgrades & Developments
💓 Regular Heartbeat Upgrade
On November 15, 2024, the "Regular Heartbeat" difficulty adjustment went live as a part of the eCash network upgrade. This introduced the Real-Time Target (RTT) algorithm, which smooths block times, eliminating delays and turbo blocks. For users, this means faster, more reliable transactions, enhancing the overall eCash experience.

🔍 Chronik + Bitcoin ABC Integration Complete
On April 4, 2024, Bitcoin ABC v0.29.0 marked a significant milestone as the integration of the Chronik Indexer with the Bitcoin ABC eCash node was completed! With the integrated Chronik indexer, eCash now provides a robust indexing tool that is super fast and scalable. Developers can easily create their apps, without the usual limitations of third-party indexing software.
⚛️ CashFusion Launched
On March 26, 2024, we launched CashFusion (Opt-in Privacy) with stable liquidity completing a key item in the eCash Usability Roadmap. This feature allows users to safeguard their transaction history through obfuscation. It is integrated into the Electrum ABC wallet. Enable privacy conveniently with one click.
Cashtab Wallet Upgrades
The Cashtab Wallet team rolled out several exciting updates this year including but not limited to:
- NFT Support: Added support for creating NFTs
- Agora DEX: Launched Agora - decentralized token and NFT exchange
- ALP Support: Support for genesis, mint, send, burn, and Agora for ALP tokens
- Dedicated landing pages: eToken & NFT landing pages launched, simplifying access to tokens and NFTs
- BIP21 Transactions: Added support for BIP21 transactions, unlocking possibilities for diverse web app transactions and seamless web app integrations with Cashtab
- Variable Supply Tokens: Mint eTokens with flexibility
- UI Overhaul: The wallet's interface was upgraded for a sleeker, more intuitive user experience

- Trocador app added support for XEC, allowing users to get virtual prepaid cards and trade XEC.

Gaming
- eCashPoker launched, offering 24/7 cash games and freerolls for the community. 🎴
- New games were launched on eCashPlay.
Exchange & Wallet Listings
This year saw several new exchange and wallet integrations:
- KoinBX, CEX.IO, Bigeria, WhiteBit, Coinstore, and BinanceTH 🇹🇭 all listed eCash (XEC).
- Guardarian introduced direct USD → XEC on-ramps, streamlining fiat-to-crypto conversions.
Community/Milestones
Block Reward Halving
The eCash block reward halving was completed on April 11th, 2024. This pivotal event ensures eCash’s long-term sustainability. As of block height 840,000, the block reward subsidy was reduced from 6.25M XEC to 3.125M XEC. The yearly inflation rate is now at 0.83%. Details here.
#BestOfTheRest Crypto Tournament
The eCash community showed its strength, winning 1st place in the #BestOfTheRest Crypto Tournament organized by UltimateCrypto7. 🏆
Social Media Growth
- Cashtab Wallet joined 𝕏 and Facebook
- eCash joined Binance Square
- eCash’s official CoinMarketCap community surpassed 100,000 followers
