ENA Rally Takes a Breather: Is Ethena Preparing for Its Next Move?
CryptoCompass editorial visual for markets coverage.
  • ENA retreated from $0.29, testing key support near $0.20-$0.21.
  • Technical indicators show cooling momentum after a strong multi-month rally.
  • USDe growth and ecosystem expansion continue strengthening Ethena's fundamentals.

Cryptocurrency traders have watched Ethena’s ENA deliver an impressive run since August. After climbing from around $0.08 to nearly $0.29, the token has finally slowed down. Recent price action shows buyers taking a step back after weeks of strong momentum. While short-term weakness has emerged, the bigger picture remains interesting. Technical signals suggest caution, yet growing activity across the Ethena ecosystem continues to paint a far more optimistic backdrop.

ENA Faces a Key Test as Momentum Slows

ENA currently trades around $0.22 after failing to push through the $0.28 to $0.30 resistance zone. That area acted as a ceiling in late September and triggered a fresh wave of selling pressure. The token opened near $0.226 and briefly touched $0.228 before slipping toward $0.220. Daily performance reflects a decline of roughly 2.9%, adding to recent weakness.

Despite the drop, the broader structure remains constructive. ENA still holds above an ascending trend line that began during the August recovery. That trend line now sits near the $0.20 to $0.21 range and represents a critical support area. As long as buyers defend that region, the sequence of higher lows remains intact. Such a pattern often signals that an uptrend is still alive, even during periods of correction.

If selling pressure increases, traders may focus on the next support zone between $0.18 and $0.19. A break below that range could challenge bullish expectations. Momentum indicators also reflect a cooling market. The Relative Strength Index sits near 50.78, placing sentiment in neutral territory. During September's rally, that reading reached overbought levels, which often precede periods of consolidation.

Strong Fundamentals Continue to Support the Ethena Story

While price action has weakened, Ethena's underlying growth tells a different story. USDe supply expanded by 20.2% during September, reaching $4.90 billion. Among the ten largest stablecoins, that marked the fastest growth rate. The milestone also allowed USDe to surpass DAI and become the fourth-largest stablecoin by market value.

Although current supply remains below the previous peak of $14.8 billion, recent growth highlights rising demand across the ecosystem. Another positive development comes from Ether.fi. The platform is launching a branded dollar product using Ethena's white-label stablecoin infrastructure. Ether.fi already holds more than $300 million in stablecoin balances, creating a potentially valuable growth channel.

Ethena has also broadened USDe's backing model. Binance bStocks can now serve as spot assets, while equity perpetual futures provide hedging support. Such expansion shows a willingness to explore new collateral opportunities beyond traditional crypto assets. Recent tokenomics changes may also benefit long-term market stability.
