CryptoCompass editorial visual for markets coverage.
  • Ethereum holds the $2,450-$2,500 support zone despite ongoing ETF outflows.
  • Whales accumulated over 166,000 ETH in 72 hours, signaling confidence.
  • A move above $2,650 could strengthen Ethereum's bullish outlook.

Ethereum — ETH, remains under close watch as traders assess recent market weakness. While price action has lost momentum since September, buyers continue defending an important support zone. At the same time, large investors are quietly accumulating significant amounts of ETH. That combination has sparked fresh interest among market participants. With whale activity rising and long-term trends still pointing upward, Ethereum may be approaching an important moment.

Ethereum Holds Key Support Despite ETF Outflows

Ethereum trades near $2,502 on the Binance daily chart. Recent sessions have shown limited movement around that level. Price opened near $2,503, briefly moved higher, then slipped below $2,500 before ending the day almost unchanged. Although recent performance appears soft, the broader trend remains constructive. ETH still trades above a rising trendline that started near the June lows. Buyers have defended that structure for several months.

Spot Ether ETFs have faced pressure recently. U.S. spot Ether ETFs recorded a net outflow of $56.1 million on Oct. 9. That marked the ninth consecutive trading session with withdrawals. The largest outflow occurred on Oct. 6. Investors pulled nearly $202 million from those products. Another $160.9 million exited on Oct. 7. Continued redemptions have weighed on short-term sentiment.

Despite recent weakness, longer-term figures remain encouraging. Total net inflows across U.S. spot Ether ETFs stand near $13.3 billion. BlackRock's ETHA continues leading the sector with almost $12.8 billion in cumulative inflows. Fidelity's FETH and Grayscale's mini Ether fund have also attracted substantial capital. From a technical standpoint, Ethereum sits near a critical support area. The $2,450 to $2,500 zone aligns with a previous breakout region and a rising trendline.

Whale Accumulation Supports Long-term Optimism

Momentum indicators suggest caution but not panic. The RSI currently sits below neutral at 40.85. Meanwhile, the MACD histogram remains negative. Those readings show slowing momentum but not a confirmed trend reversal. If support remains intact, ETH could attempt a move toward $2,650 and $2,750. Sellers became active in that region during the latest rally. A successful breakout could improve market sentiment considerably.

On the downside, a loss of current support may expose the $1,850 to $1,950 area. That region served as the foundation for the late-summer advance. Long-term analysts remain optimistic. Crypto Patel believes Ethereum has entered a bullish higher-timeframe zone. His roadmap targets $5,000, $7,000, and eventually $10,000 between 2026 and 2027. He is watching the $2,100 to $1,800 area for potential future opportunities if a deeper pullback occurs.

Whale behavior offers another positive signal. According to analyst Ali Charts, large investors accumulated more than 166,000 ETH during the last 72 hours. Such buying activity often reflects growing confidence among experienced market participants. For now, Ethereum's ability to hold above $2,500 remains the key level to watch.
