Farcaster, the decentralized protocol, has introduced an in-app payments feature for its Warpcast client. It uses the USDC stablecoin for 1-tap payments, with crypto transactions to look up alphanumeric wallet addresses.

The new feature uses human-readable Farcaster identities, to look up addresses or remember ENS spellings.“Our goal is to make it easy to pay people with crypto in an app on your phone,”  co-founder Dan Romero explained.

The application will utilize USDC on the Coinbase-built Base Ethereum scaling layer to reduce fees and confirmation times. Farcaster’s open protocol allows other ecosystem apps to support currencies and chains.

Romero’s strategy for Farcaster involves ensuring the success of Warpcast,to the app using the protocol. Aun Ventures’ Breck Stodghill said building features are used by the Warpcast client to create a real alternative to Twitter.

In May, Farcaster secured a $150 million funding round with Paradigm as the lead investor and other investors such as a16z, Haun Ventures, USV, Variant, and Standard Crypto transform social media and crypto transactions.

Farcaster’s USDC 1-tap  payment process uses blockchain tech Farcaster to make crypto transactions easy and user-friendly.
