The demise of Mark Longo’s pets, P’Nut the Squirrel and Fred the Raccoon, took the internet by storm as netizens criticized the government for euthanizing the animals. Less than a month after the story broke headlines, Longo has criticized the crypto community for profiting from his trauma.

Earlier this month, Mark Longo revealed that Pnut the squirrel and Fred the Raccoon had been put down by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. The government agency raided Longo’s animal sanctuary in Pine City, New York, citing laws against domesticating wildlife.

Longo is again in the spotlight after announcing he was working on a new coin that will honor the memories of his euthanized pets, Fred and Pnut.

In the video, Longo accused the crypto community of profiting from his loss and trauma without involving him and his family. He claimed that the crypto community took advantage of the tragedy that befell him and capitalized on it for personal gains, which he termed one of the most devastating things in his life.

“You guys haven’t seen that the crypto world has taken my tragedy and has profited every which way possible, leaving the sanctuary behind, leaving my family behind, and profiting on what is one of the most devastating things that will ever happen to me in my life.”

Longo announced he had assembled a team of animal lovers and animal rights activists and would be developing a coin he called JUSTICE. He emphasized that the coin he was working on was the only coin he would be associated with moving forward. Since the announcement, Longo has received heavy backlash from the crypto community

Other reports surfing the internet reveal that the PNUT community members donated $50,000 to Longo, which they claim he liquidated immediately. One particular user shared screenshots of a private Telegram conversation with Squirreldad12 (believed to be Mark Longo), who appeared to ask for a donation to allow the PNUT developers to use his brand.

In the conversation, Longo says he trademarked P’Nut and his likeness and asked for a “small” donation and allocation to allow the PNUT developers to use his brand, content, and P’Nut the squirrel’s name moving forward.

One user said Longo expressed his discontent when other people make money from his pets, but now he wants to launch a new coin for himself so that people can make money.

Another user commented on Mark Longo’s post, saying no one cared about the coin he endorsed and that he was not the main character. The user also told Mark that no one would buy his “garbage” Justice token and that he would waste time and money trying to go to court.

P’Nut the Squirrel had become an internet sensation and had garnered more than half a million followers across various social media platforms. The famous eastern gray squirrel was put down after allegedly biting someone during the seizure.
