Midnight (@MidnightNtwrk) has used October to show off new products, push out cross-chain privacy tooling and set out its next technical priorities. The update covers demos at TOKEN2049, the launch of Nightmode and a planned extension to TRON (@trondao) $TRX in December.

TOKEN2049 demos and Nightmode launch

At TOKEN2049 in Singapore, Midnight ran its own keynote. The team showed several products, including Night Mode, Midnight Passport, the Collateral Warehouse and Offer Files. The project combines technologies including zero-knowledge proofs, multi-party computation and trusted execution environments.

On October 20, Midnight introduced Nightmode. Nightmode brings confidential execution and shielded liquidity to public blockchains via Midnight without moving assets or using cross-chain bridges.Users can deposit native assets into an MPC vault on the source chain, after which Midnight issues corresponding token balances in the Multi-Chain Shielded (MCS) pool.Nightmode supports zero-knowledge proofs for selective disclosure, meeting compliance requirements.

CoinMarketCap notes that the system is designed to let users lock assets in Multi-Party Computation (MPC) vaults on chains like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and Tron, and receive matching private balances on Midnight.

TRON expansion planned for December

The TRON rollout is the next step. According to TokenPost, SIG Network is developing Nightmode with Midnight, and its CEO David Millar-Durrant outlined a planned TRON expansion for December 2026, with Ethereum already supported. The same report says Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson welcomed TRON to Midnight in response to the Nightmode plans. TokenPost adds that the planned setup is intended to work with common exchange screening processes that help meet compliance requirements.

On price, TokenPost reported that NIGHT was priced at $0.0393 on a Friday in late October, about 21% below its early-October reference near $0.05. It also noted that Midnight gave no estimate of how Nightmode might affect demand for NIGHT.

Background on Midnight

Midnight is a privacy-focused blockchain. Coin Bureau describes it as a fourth-generation privacy-focused blockchain and the first partner chain connected to the Cardano ecosystem. The same source says Midnight launched its mainnet in March 2026. The network runs on two tokens: NIGHT handles governance and utility and has a fixed supply of 24 billion, while DUST is a shielded token used as a renewable resource for paying transaction fees.

Midnight has also outlined its technical priorities through Q1 2027, covering confidential finance, digital identity, network scaling and post-quantum proving. The TRON integration and the wider rollout of Nightmode will be the first tests of that roadmap.
