As the year wraps up, let's journey back through the path Qtum has carved in 2023. We attended many events, hosted many AMAs and talked to the community, made incredible partnerships, and even completed a hard fork. We’re thankful for the year we had and excited for this new one!
Technological Milestones
Update of the Qtum Core

An updated Qtum Core Wallet was packed with bug fixes and improvements. Linux users, rejoice, as we've fixed an address validation issue. Plus, we've updated staking icon tooltips and macOS build instructions. → See here
Major Update: Qtum Core v24.1
We've announced some major updates to Qtum Core (v24.1), including a hard fork, an upgrade to Bitcoin Core 24.1, EVM Shanghai, and several improvements and bug fixes.
The Hard Fork
Qtum completed a hard fork update on November 27, 2023, at 00:24 UTC. This upgrade is a functional step forward for the platform's functionality and efficiency.
Binance, CoinW, Gate.io, and many others announced their support for the upgrade, scheduled at block height 3,385,122.
This marked a key moment for Qtum as it moved towards enhanced functionality and improved network capabilities.

The team went to #ETHDenver2023. It was an excellent opportunity for us to network, collaborate, and learn about the latest advancements in the blockchain industry.
Mike Showcases Qtum at AIBC Dubai
We take great pride in having @MikeQtum represent Qtum at #AIBCDubai, where he spoke on a panel about Emerging Markets in Crypto: LATAM.

GDC with Moonland
The Moonland core development team invited Qtum operations to join them at the Game Developers Conference (GDC). We made some new connections and are looking forward to seeing more games get powered by Qtum.

Consensus 2023 Highlights
