Ripple mints more RLUSD on Ethereum
Ripple (@Ripple) has minted another 19.6 million RLUSD on Ethereum (@ethereum), bringing two recent mints to $38.6 million. Data from the Ripple Stablecoin Tracker shows the latest issuance followed an earlier mint of 19 million tokens.
Over the same period, three burns totaling $50.6 million were recorded on the XRP Ledger. The burns removed 13 million, 18 million and 19.6 million RLUSD in separate transactions. With 38.6 million RLUSD issued and 50.6 million burned, the tracker data points to a net reduction of 12 million tokens in circulation.
Burns are a routine part of how a fully backed stablecoin operates. When institutional clients redeem RLUSD for US dollars, the tokens are sent to a null address and removed from supply. Mints happen when new demand requires fresh issuance. The pattern of mints on Ethereum and burns on the XRP Ledger also reflects the token's multi-network structure. According to CoinGecko data cited by Bitcoinhaber, RLUSD's market value is around $2.42 billion.
Standard Chartered launches RLUSD custody
The supply activity comes as institutional interest in the stablecoin grows. Standard Chartered said it now supports institutional custody of Ripple USD (RLUSD) issued on the XRP Ledger, giving eligible clients access to the bank's digital asset custody infrastructure. The service is offered through the bank's Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) branch, which is regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA).
The bank is also working with Ripple and LMAX Group on a planned arrangement to make RLUSD eligible collateral for agreed LMAX products. Under a model the bank calls collateral mirroring, the RLUSD would stay in custody at Standard Chartered while its value is mirrored to LMAX, so the tokens would not need to be moved to the trading venue.
That trading element is not yet live. The collateral integration remains subject to documentation, testing, internal approvals and regulatory requirements, and no launch date has been given. Market commentary from InvestingLive also cautions that bank custody does not by itself create direct demand for RLUSD or XRP, and describes the announcement as more a signal about market structure than a price catalyst.
For now, the custody launch gives institutions a regulated route to hold RLUSD, while the on-chain mint and burn data shows Ripple actively managing supply across Ethereum and the XRP Ledger.
