Solana leads every blockchain in tokenized gold growth

Gold is increasingly going digital, and over the past year Solana has grown faster than any other blockchain carrying it.

Tokenized gold, digital tokens backed by real, physical gold stored in vaults, lets investors hold gold exposure onchain and trade in and out of it with the speed of crypto, rather than dealing with buying and storing the metal itself.

Solana is a blockchain known for fast, low-cost transactions, qualities that have made it a growing home for tokenized real-world assets.

That speed and low cost matter for gold tokens, which need to move cheaply and settle quickly to be useful for trading, and it is part of why the metal is finding traction on the network.

Solana grew fastest of any chain

Compared with August 2025, the market value of tokenized gold on Solana grew 689.1% over the year, averaging 18.8% growth month over month, according to a report from Birdeye Data.

Data from Birdeye and RWA.xyz.

That put Solana well ahead of its rivals: its year-over-year growth ran more than twice that of BNB Chain, the next-fastest network, and roughly 4.6 times the growth recorded on Avalanche and Ethereum.

In other words, while these bigger networks have long carried tokenized gold, Solana is the chain adding it the quickest, a sign that newer venues are pulling in a growing share of the category's momentum.

A standout in gold derivatives

Solana's strength shows up most clearly in gold perpetuals, contracts that let traders bet on gold's price without holding the token itself.

Its peak came in May 2026, with $7.19 billion in volume and $21.6 million in month-end open interest, according to Birdeye report.

On volume alone, Solana's gold perps at their peak nearly doubled Hyperliquid's strongest month, an early indication, the report notes, that synthetic gold exposure is not consolidating onto a single venue.

The wider tokenized gold market more than doubled during gold's price rally and held steady even when prices fell, a sign investors are treating these tokens as a lasting way to hold gold.
