Ubisoft Launches First Web3 Game on Oasys

They are set to launch their first Web3 game called Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles on October 23rd.

This tactical RPG will use the Oasys blockchain. It is designed to enhance gaming experiences and give players true ownership of their in-game items.

Ubisoft’s Game Lets Players Truly Own Their Champions

In an interview, Sylvain Loe-Mie, the game’s executive producer, explained how Web3 technology makes the game better without being too complicated. He said, “Web3 technology enables players to own their in-game assets in a meaningful way.”

This means players can truly own their digital items, creating a stronger bond with their champions and the game itself. In Champions Tactics, players will build teams of champions to fight against others in player-versus-player (PvP) battles.

Players can choose from 75,000 unique digital champions to create their dream team. One exciting feature is the “Forge” system, which allows players to customize and create new champions.

Loe-Mie acknowledged these concerns, stating that “market volatility and fluctuating demand” could affect the entire gaming experience. He emphasized that Ubisoft’s main goal is to create a game that lasts. “Our focus is on creating a sustainable game where digital collectibles enhance the experience rather than dictate it,” he explained.
