Web3 gaming platform Chainers.io has announced a closed playtest for its new multiplayer shooter, Chainers Arena Playtest, scheduled to run from December 5–6.
Chainers, a free-to-play Minecraft-inspired MMORPG powered by its own Polygon sidechain, has already distributed over 25 million NFTs and boasts a community of more than 350,000 players. The multiplayer shooter mode, Chainers Arena, is the platform’s first foray into tactical combat gameplay.
Unlike purely earnings-driven play-to-earn models, Chainers aims to provide a dynamic Web3 world with enjoyable tokenized mechanics. The game’s economy revolves around in-game tokens like FRI and CFB, which can be earned by completing tasks and challenges.
The developers promise interconnected gameplay across the Chainers ecosystem, with achievements in Chainers Arena influencing other game modes, such as NFT Farm. In this farming mode, players cultivate plants to generate FRI tokens, which are non-tradable but critical for advancing gameplay. Similarly, resources from NFT Farm will soon enhance performance in the shooter, creating a symbiotic relationship between the two modes.
“In future updates, resources crafted on NFT Farm can power your performance in the shooter, while rewards earned in Arena battles can improve your farming setup. This synergy adds depth and strategy,”
the developers explained.
Participants in the playtest can expect to receive exclusive rewards, including the “Dummy” character skin for providing valuable feedback and up to 400 CFB tokens based on their in-game activity. Additionally, Chainers reward players with POL (ex-MATIC) tokens for completing events in the NFT Farm mode, which can be withdrawn to self-custodial wallets.
To join the playtest, users must register on the Chainers.io website, where selected participants will be invited to test the shooter and provide feedback to shape its development.
In a similar move to enhance the Web3 gaming experience, Immutable, a prominent Web3 game developer, has launched a new feature designed to streamline in-game transactions. Announced on November 11, Immutable’s “Pre-Approved Transactions” feature allows players to authorize transactions directly within the game interface, eliminating the need to leave the game or manage external wallets.
