Grayscale Plans 3-for-1 Split as Zcash ETF Attracts Millions

Zcash's recent rally has placed the cryptocurrency near record price levels. The token reached $1,521 as buying interest continued to strengthen. According to the supplied market data, ZEC has gained approximately 2,800% over the past year. Such a sharp increase has placed privacy-focused cryptocurrencies under renewed investor scrutiny. Meanwhile, institutional activity around Zcash continues to attract attention.

Grayscale has filed plans for a 3-for-1 forward share split. The proposed split applies to the Grayscale Zcash Trust ETF, which trades under ticker ZCSH. Under the plan, shareholders will receive two additional shares. Investors must hold shares at the close of trading on September 28.

The fund plans to distribute the additional shares after market close on September 29.Split-adjusted trading should begin on September 30. The proposed change will lower the ETF's price per share. However, the overall value of each investor's holding will remain unchanged. For example, 10 shares worth $300 each would become 30 shares. Each new share would carry an approximate value of $100.

The split changes the number of shares without changing the total investment value. Grayscale's move could also make individual shares more accessible to investors. However, the split alone does not increase the fund's underlying assets. Investors should distinguish between share-price adjustments and genuine capital inflows.

Zcash Mining Activity Shows Signs of Expansion

Mining activity has also increased alongside Zcash's price performance. The Zcash network's hashrate rose from approximately 25 GSol/s in late August. Recent figures place the hashrate just below 32 GSol/s. Hashrate measures the computing power supporting a proof-of-work blockchain. Higher hashrate can reflect greater participation from miners.

Mining difficulty has also reached approximately 291 million. Difficulty measures how challenging mining becomes under the network's adjustment system. Higher difficulty can accompany increased competition among mining participants. However, mining growth does not automatically guarantee stronger token prices. Network economics and mining profitability also influence participation.

The latest figures place ZEC near the recent $1,521 peak. ETF inflows continue to attract attention across the investment market. Broader buying activity has also expanded among different trader groups. Meanwhile, rising mining participation adds another development to the story. Investors will likely watch whether these trends continue supporting Zcash's market momentum.
