Decentralized perpetual exchange Aster has listed perpetual futures contracts for four major Hong Kong-listed equities: Tencent, Xiaomi, MiniMax, and PopMart. The listings cover Tencent (00700.HK), Xiaomi (01810.HK), MiniMax (00100.HK), and Pop Mart (09992.HK). Traders can access these markets with up to 3x leverage, with positions available around the clock, unlike traditional Hong Kong exchange hours.
Aster says it is the first perpetual futures DEX to list Hong Kong stocks, positioning itself as a gateway for global traders to access high-quality Asian equities through decentralized finance. The platform requires only a crypto wallet to get started. Previously, trading these stocks required opening a Hong Kong brokerage account, which involves KYC procedures and often limits access for international investors.
The Hong Kong listings are the latest step in Aster's expanding real-world asset strategy. Aster was formed after the merger of Astherus and APX Finance, combining yield-generating products with advanced perpetual markets and MEV-resistant high-leverage trading. The platform already supports perpetual contracts on US equities and a range of crypto assets. Aster enables 24/7 trading of stock perpetuals, letting users trade traditional equities with crypto-style leverage and collateral.
The move fits a wider trend reshaping the perp DEX sector. The broader perpetual futures market increased by about 75% in two years, and decentralized exchanges have captured a growing share, with roughly one in every ten dollars traded in crypto perpetual markets now flowing through decentralized venues. Equity perpetual futures could be the next major growth area, combining crypto's 24/7 access and leverage with demand for exposure to major equities outside traditional market hours.
Traders should be aware that leveraged perpetual contracts carry significant risk. DEX trading involves smart contract risk, market risk, and liquidity risk. Users should conduct their own research, start with small positions, and never invest more than they can afford to lose, as leverage trading can result in total loss of funds.
