Autonomi 2.0 Is Live: What It Means for ANT

A permanent, post-quantum encrypted archive network is live this week. Here is what that means for the token and the demand curve behind it.

What shipped

Autonomi 2.0 is live. The archive layer is operational today: pay once in ANT, store permanently. The network self encrypts, self distributes, and self heals.

Under the hood, the cryptography is entirely post quantum. ML-DSA-65 for signatures, ML-KEM-768 for key exchange, no classical fallback and no hybrid mode. To the best of our knowledge, no other decentralised network has shipped this.

Node operation has been rebuilt for home hardware. Native QUIC handles NAT traversal with no port forwarding and no configuration, which means genuine zero config participation from any home device. Filecoin, Arweave, and Storj all still run on classical cryptography and largely depend on dedicated hardware. Autonomi does not.

Where ANT fits in

ANT is a utility token. Its value is tied to the products that use it.

Today that means the archive layer. Pricing is deterministic and simple: median quote times three, per chunk. A single upfront payment per record. No subscriptions. No renewals. As a node fills up, its price rises naturally, so the market self regulates without a price oracle or a human setting rates.

Demand is therefore measurable. Not "future potential usage" but chunks stored, today, on a live network.

The product ladder (next 90 days)

Each launch creates new utility for the same token.

This week. The Reading Room. The Autonomi Foundation is funding permanent preservation of foundational academic papers, live at reading-room.com. The Foundation is the first customer of the network. Real data, real permanence, from day one.

Next week. Indelible. The upload engine for Autonomi. Any organisation can permanently archive their work on infrastructure that no government, corporation, or market downturn can switch off. Target users include archives, libraries, journalism, legal and medical records.

Two weeks. x0x. An agent to agent gossip network. Agents are already integrating organically, with no outreach and no incentive programme.

This summer. Fae and the Trusted Data Layer. Fae is a personal AI companion, created by Saorsa Labs for Autonomi, that runs locally and stores its knowledge on the network. The Trusted Data Layer lets agents pull verified source material directly from Autonomi and act with cryptographic confidence in what they are reading.

Storage. Agent payments. Verified data access. Personal AI memory. One token, compounding utility.

Two structural tailwinds

Post quantum urgency. Harvest now, decrypt later is an active, documented practice. NIST has been shipping post quantum standards specifically to counter it. Data stored on networks that still rely on classical cryptography has an uncertain future. Data stored on Autonomi does not.

Agentic infrastructure. MCP crossed 97 million monthly SDK downloads. Gartner projects 40 percent of enterprise applications will embed agents by the end of 2026. Agents cannot open bank accounts and cannot complete KYC. They need native infrastructure that was designed to include them from the start. ANT is one of the few tokens positioned for this directly.

The emissions pool (over 233 million tokens held in reserve) represents optionality for exactly this kind of demand. The intention is to let real usage patterns surface and adapt to the evidence, rather than commit to financial engineering ahead of it.

Credibility

Autonomi has been in development for 20 years, led by David Irvine. Thirty patents in networking and distributed systems. Previously built a 300 million dollar private network for Saudi Aramco. Published in distributed computing and cryptography.

The code is open source, the architecture is auditable, and the documentation is public at autonomi.com/build.
