TL;DR
March was a landmark month. Codatta crossed10,000,000 total contributions— a milestone that reflects the scale and quality of our contributor network. We also kicked off theCodatta iOS App Alpha Test, marking our first native mobile app experience. On the technology side, we shipped meaningful upgrades across task qualification, token claim, x402 compatibility, and gasless payments, while advancing our decentralization roadmap in the background. The community showed up strong: Ambassadors and Moderators worldwide helped drive the alpha launch, and our content series deepened engagement across the ecosystem.
Product & Technology Updates
Shipped
- Codatta iOS App — The latest version of the Codatta iOS App brings refreshed mobile architecture and improved interaction design. We upgraded the UI component library and optimized page load performance and stability, delivering a noticeably smoother experience across devices.
- Task Qualification System — Added a qualification module for Frontier tasks. Contributors can be filtered by qualification tags and minimum reputation thresholds, ensuring data quality is maintained as task complexity grows.
- Token Claim V2 — The token claim flow has been upgraded with gas fee estimation, claim history tracking, and USDT support — making on-chain interactions cleaner and more transparent for contributors.

In Development & Internal Testing
- Codatta DID Upgrade — Upgrading Codatta DID to formally support ERC-8004 interoperability. The goal: enable ERC-8004-compliant agents to integrate with the Codatta ecosystem more easily, and allow Codatta-native agents to participate in the broader ERC-8004 ecosystem. Currently in architecture review.
- User Badge System — A badge module is in development to support issuing, querying, and displaying badges — providing a new layer of recognition and incentive for community contributors.
- Developer Portal — Core functionality for the data buyer-facing Developer Portal has been built out, including registration and invite flows, organization management, and API key management. This will be the primary gateway for external developers and agents to access Codatta data.
- AI-Assisted Video Annotation — A prototype automated annotation workflow for video and image frame sequences has been completed, covering clip segmentation, trimming, and labeling. This validates the feasibility of AI-assisted data annotation at scale.
- Platform Decentralization — We are refactoring and upgrading core platform components as smart contracts — including Frontier creation and management, data permission controls, data storage, and the data copyright and royalty engine. Unit testing is currently underway.

We are preparing to release the MVP of our on-chain Data Lineage product built on Base — bringing full contribution traceability and provenance on-chain.
Events
The team will be in Hong Kong for offline events: speaking at the Ethereum Hong Kong Hub Opening Ceremony on April 21, followed by participation in HK Web3 Festival from April 20–23. Come find us there.
