LYX
On May 23, 2023, Genesis Validators successfully launched LUKSO Mainnet with an initial supply of 42 million LYX. Following Mainnet launch and Discovery Month, the LYXe to LYX migration process opened on July 4, 2023, allowing holders of the pre-mainnet ERC-20 token, LYXe, to migrate to native LYX on the LUKSO Blockchain.
From the beginning, the migration process was introduced as the official route for LYXe holders to move from Ethereum to the LUKSO network. It was also communicated clearly that LYXe would not migrate automatically for self-custodial wallets and that each holder needed to complete the migration process themselves.
As the ecosystem matured, LUKSO shared further updates around the migration timeline. In January 2025, the original 4-year migration window was shortened and the deadline was set for May 23, 2025. That update pointed to infrastructure costs, security considerations, and community feedback as the reasons for the change. It also stated that manual migrations for larger holders could be considered for up to one additional year, without guarantee.
By that point, a substantial share of LYXe had already been migrated to native LYX. In the January 2025 update, LUKSO stated that more than 10.8m LYXe had been migrated out of a total possible amount of approximately 15.6m LYXe. With some LYXe still left unmigrated, the migration window remained available beyond May 23, 2025, giving remaining holders additional time to complete the process.
On March 23, 2026, LUKSO shared a public reminder confirming that the migration window is closing and that the final deadline is May 23, 2026, the third anniversary of LUKSO Mainnet.
There is now less than one month left until the end of the official migration window.
The final deadline to migrate LYXe to LYX is May 23, 2026. After that date, LYXe will no longer be eligible for migration through the official process.
If you still hold LYXe in a self-custodial wallet, please complete the migration before the deadline. The migration can be done through the official migration bridge:
Before connecting your wallet, always verify that you are using the official lukso.network domain. Do not trust links from DMs, impersonator accounts, or unofficial support messages. Never share your seed phrase or private keys.
To migrate, holders need at least 1 LYXe in the connected wallet and enough ETH on Ethereum to cover gas. LYX will be sent to the same blockchain address used during migration on the LUKSO network. Depending on network conditions and the migration process, completion may take several hours or days.
LYXe itself will continue to exist as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum after the migration window closes. However, once the official migration process ends, there is no guaranteed migration path, parity, or future utility for LYXe within the LUKSO ecosystem.
The migration from LYXe to LYX has been an important part of LUKSO’s transition from its pre-mainnet phase to a fully native network. As LUKSO continues to develop as the blockchain for social, culture and creators, native LYX remains at the center of the ecosystem.
We would like to thank everyone in the community who has already completed the migration and supported this transition over the past three years. Your participation has helped move the network forward and strengthen the foundation for what comes next.
